NELO contracts for identified CIA rendition planes
Private companies with current permits to land in US military bases worldwide
Contracts for identified rendition planes have been issued through an obscure US Navy office, rather than the CIA, according to US Department of Defense (DoD) documents obtained by Associated Press (AP).(54) In September 2005, AP reported that the Navy Engineering Logistics Office (NELO)(55) had issued classified contracts with 10 different companies and 33 planes for the "occasional airlift of USN (Navy) cargo worldwide."
